Iron ore
Iron ore (especially magnetite and hematite) is known for its high hardness and strong abrasiveness. Traditional crushing + ball milling circuits consume enormous energy, with frequent consumption of grinding media and liner replacements, leading to persistently high operating costs. The High Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) uses interparticle bed crushing technology to effectively reduce the feed size to the ball mill, achieving the principle of “more crushing, less grinding”.

01. Extended Wear‑Resistant Roll Surface
Processing iron ore imposes extreme demands on roll surface wear. Our roll surfaces are protected with tungsten carbide studs or a high‑chromium wear‑resistant hardfacing layer (hardness ≥ HRC62). Under typical magnetite operating conditions, they run continuously for 8,000–12,000 hours and can be field‑rebuilt by hardfacing 2–3 times, achieving a total service life of more than 20,000 hours.
02. Intelligent Hydraulic Gap Adjustment
The liberation degree of iron ore directly affects the final magnetic concentrate grade. The HPGR uses an intelligent hydraulic system to adjust the roll gap in real time (stepless adjustment from 2 mm to 10 mm), creating micro‑cracks within the material bed. This allows selective breakage of iron minerals and gangue along grain boundaries, improving downstream grinding efficiency.

03. High Efficiency, Energy Saving & Protection
Integrating advanced electromechanical‑hydraulic technology, the HPGR saves 25–35% of energy compared to conventional fine crushing + ball milling circuits. When an uncrushable object (tramp iron, broken liner fragments) enters, the hydraulic system automatically widens the roll gap to let the object pass, then quickly resets – protecting the core components from damage.
