Project Background
This local mountain aggregate plant mainly processes mixed mountain stones from open-pit mining, including bluestone, granite and weathered rock. The raw materials are covered with surface loam and vary greatly in hardness.
The plant originally adopted impact sand makers for fine crushing, which caused multiple long-term production troubles. Mountain stones feature high hardness and strong abrasiveness, leading to rapid wear of blow bars and liners. Monthly shutdowns for part replacement caused heavy production loss. High-speed impact generated excessive ultra-fine stone powder with low raw material utilization rate. The finished aggregates contained excessive flaky particles and failed to meet the supply standard for local commercial concrete and road infrastructure projects. Muddy and damp raw materials easily blocked screen meshes, resulting in frequent production interruptions, high power consumption and expensive overall operation and maintenance costs.
After comparing solutions from multiple equipment manufacturers, the customer chose Huashengming hydraulic double roll mountain stone sand maker to build a two-stage sand making line to support continuous processing of mixed soft and hard mountain stones.

Overall Production Line Configuration
- Primary Coarse Crushing: Jaw crusher, breaking large mountain stones into uniform feedstock of 30–50mm
- Core Sand Making Host: Huashengming hydraulic double roll mountain stone sand maker. Its roller skins are integrally cast with high chromium manganese alloy via centrifugal casting technology.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Variable-frequency vibrating feeder, belt conveyor, linear vibrating screen, built-in anti-sticking scraper assembly
- Process Flow: Coarse crushing of raw mountain stones → uniform feeding into hydraulic double roll for extrusion fine crushing → screening and classification, producing two finished products: 0–5mm manufactured sand and 5–16mm construction crushed stone for sale.
Five Major On-Site Improvements After Commissioning
1. The core wear-resistant roller skins are integrally centrifugal cast with dense and even internal metal structure and stable thickness of wear-resistant layers. Their friction and impact resistance against mountain stones far outperforms ordinary sand-cast roller bodies. When processing high-hardness granite, abrasion is minor without frequent surfacing repair. The service life of wear parts is extended significantly, cutting production loss from maintenance shutdowns and lowering long-term operation costs.
2. Abandoning high-speed impact crushing, twin rollers crack mountain stones through low-speed high-pressure extrusion. Stones split naturally along their internal textures to form regular cubic particles with low flaky content. The crushing value and particle gradation fully satisfy local standards for road and commercial concrete raw materials. Stone powder output is controllable to improve raw material utilization and reduce waste.
3. The production line handles alternating materials including bluestone, granite and weathered rock with mixed hardness. Equipped with an automatic hydraulic adjustment mechanism, operators can adjust the roller clearance with one click to produce multi-specification finished products such as fine sand and crushed stone. A single line meets diverse order demands and simplifies the whole crushing process.
4. Mined mountain stones often mix with iron blocks and ultra-hard rock lumps, which easily jam conventional crushers and damage transmission components. This machine is fitted with a hydraulic buffer retreat system. When uncrushable hard foreign bodies enter the crushing chamber, the movable roller retreats automatically to discharge materials and resets quickly afterward. No manual shutdown cleaning is required, effectively protecting core components including reducers and roller bodies and greatly lowering equipment failure rates.

5. Mountain stone raw ore carries surface loam, and damp materials in rainy seasons tend to stick to equipment. The roller surface is optimized with anti-sticking design matched with built-in scrapers. Muddy and wet mountain stones can be fed smoothly without uneven particle output or roller blockage, supporting non-stop round-the-clock operation.
